Street art by OakOak. From the artist profile by I Support Street Art:
OakOak is a French carismatic [sic] artist who likes to play with urban elements. He has an eye and mind to the details most people ignore and inovates [sic] a scene with his intervention.
(For the unaware, Mark Rothko was an abstract impressionist known for covering canvases in large swaths of color. The seascape is very reminiscent of something he might have painted, as you can see via his National Gallery collection.)

Clever piece of graffiti

Date: 2024-10-08 01:16 am (UTC)From what I've read about this artist in English-language articles (the artist, and thus most coverage of the artist, is French) that seems to be their focus: reframing urban and abandoned locations via small additions to turn things like cracks or manhole covers or other common elements into something uncommon and whimsical. It's very nice, adding a bit of wonder and discovery to the everyday.
